St. Andrew’s Night: A Celebration Of The Life & Works Of Andrew Weatherall

St Andrew’s Day this year is going to be a bit different in here, as we’re not just celebrating the patron saint of Scotland, but also a man who is essentially the patron saint of McChuills.

Andrew Weatherall was (and always will be) one of the greatest influences and inspirations for us here, both as individuals and as a pub/venue, not just musically but in ethos, attitude and just how you treat your fellow human beings. Music isn’t a competition, but there’s never been anyone who could touch him, or even get close. A genius, but an absolute gentleman too.

There’s no other artist more represented on our walls than The Guvnor and if it wasn’t for us having to build the beer garden in Lockdown there would have been a huge mural on the side of the pub too.

The night will see some of our favourite DJs going back over Andrew’s entire career as a musician, producer and remixer, as well as the music that both inspired him and was inspired by him.

The lineup features Bosco & Rob Mason (Lets Go Back), Brother Joseph & David Keenan (Manifesto of Bliss), Rico Vincent (Double Gone Chapel) and Gordon Stewart (Electric Eliminators), it all kicks off at 7pm and runs ‘til 1am. Entry is free.

Fail we may, sail we must.
